The Fairchick grant has been established and made possible by the Pennsylvania State Association of County Fairs and friends of the Foundation to honor Marla Calico, CFE – IAFE President and CEO. This grant was developed to receive and award funds in Marla’s honor. As Marla Calico’s retirement date draws near, in what can undoubtedly be called a remarkable career that has impacted fairs of all sizes, we are marking the end of an era. Marla’s retirement is not just a reflection of a successful career but an opportunity to celebrate the legacy of an individual whose tireless efforts have left an indelible mark on the industry. During Marla’s tenure at the IAFE, she traveled extensively and adopted the nickname “Fairchick.” That is how the Fairchick Grant came to be.
