The IAFE Education Foundation is "Raisin’ for a Reason." The IAFE Education Foundation was organized to establish and support the educational, charitable or literacy activities in the advancement and improvement of agricultural fairs, expositions and shows.

The Foundation provides many programs for charitable donations; The Century Club, Wagons and Whiskey Benefit Auction, Jim Tucker Fund and numerous scholarships all to support the Foundation’s mission.

IAFE members, friends of the Foundation, and others have UNITED to support the Foundation. Here’s why….

Stacey Wade
CEO, Lake County Fair, Eustis, Fla.

I am a huge advocate for giving back to programs or causes that have played a role in my life and or career. Being a recipient of the Errol McKoy and the Florida Federation of Fairs Scholarship, I was able to put myself on the Institute of Fair Management fast track. I had the honor to be your 2017 IAFE Agriculture Committee Co-Chair, in which I chaired Raisin’ For A Reason. There are so many individuals in our industry that have the desire, passion, and drive to be leaders in our industry; however, many do not have the support or budget to pursue their dreams of a fair career. Raisin’ For A Reason allows those of us who have had the privilege and honor of receiving scholarships, IFM certifications, and CFEs to give back and help those coming behind us preserve our beloved fair industry.

I became involved with “Raisin for a Reason” to give back to IAFE after decades of taking (while we were raising our girls). I continue to actively help out because the results are very rewarding. I get to meet and work with amazing people, and it's a lot of fun!

As an active donor and Zone 2 committee chair for the IAFE Education Foundation, former Wine & Dine fundraiser, and the expanded “Raisin for a Reason” fundraiser, I’m proud to support IAFE’s education goals for members of the fair industry. The camaraderie among Zone committee members during the planning and implementation is a strong organization team builder, and the event offers a great membership outreach opportunity, as well as good food and a casual networking experience!  Come join the fun and support the IAFE education initiative!

The Tennessee Association of Fairs and myself take pride in being involved with the IAFE “Raisin for a Reason” event. If we want to move forward in the fair industry, we have to make education an important part of the IAFE. That is why being involved in this event is rewarding to me.

I was very fortunate to be selected to win the Errol McKoy scholarship. My Fair does not have the funds to send me to the different events and classes that are needed to graduate from the institute. This scholarship made it possible for me to not only go to the IAFE summit but made it possible to learn and network with people around the world. I only hope that one day I can give back like Errol did.

The Errol McKoy scholarship really made a difference for me while I was completing my Fair Management courses. The scholarship helped offset the cost of numerous Cyber Seminars throughout the year, as well as, Institute of Fair Management courses offered during the annual convention.

As a recipient, I think anyone interested in participating in the Institute of Fair Management, should take full advantage of this generous opportunity.
